Our 2025

As 2025 comes to a close, it has been a great year and a time to reflect on what has been a busy and exciting year for the Robotics Society.

This year saw a wide range of projects, events and socials that brought together creativity, technical skill and community. One of our standout technical achievements was upgrading our Dalek to full movement and EEG-controlled operation. Alongside this we developed an open-source robotics controller which showcased our commitment to accessible, collaborative engineering.

Beyond the lab, the society was proud to be involved in the Beverley Top 100 Leaders event, giving members the opportunity to engage with leadership, innovation and the wider professional community.

Of course, it wasn’t all soldering and code. Our film nights and social nights remained a core part of society life, giving members space to relax, connect and share interests beyond robotics. We also launched our new website, making it easier than ever to keep up with events, projects and news.

To celebrate everything we’ve done this year, we’ve put together a short Christmas film using some of the projects and robots that we have worked on this year. It’s a snapshot of the people, projects and enthusiasm that define the society.

And this is only the beginning, with lots more planned for 2026, we’re excited to see what the next year brings.

Happy holidays from everyone at the Robotics Society!
